Do I really want to be a Microblading Technician?

The first thing you need to find out if Microblading training is what you really need.

Here, at Feather Touch Academy in Knoxville, Tn we have seen so many people who were willing to start their PMU career ASAP but they did not really know anything about permanent makeup technics and differences between them. The only thing they knew is that “Microblading is a Brow procedure and people can make a lot of money doing it.”

So let’s figure out what Microblading about.

Microblading is a manual technique, that allows creating hair-like strokes using a hand tool. A fine blade that consists of 18-19 needles scratches the skin creating a super-thin incision allowing the pigment to get into the skin.

Microblading has been a part of PMU industry for a long time. Unfortunately, not everyone is a good candidate for Microblading hair-strokes.

  • Oily skin

  • Large pores

  • Autoimmune disease

  • Frequent sweating due to extensive working out, menopause, etc

  • Alopecia

  • Thyroid conditions etc.

That’s why more and more Permanent Makeup Artist are switching to the Machine Strokes/Digital Blading. During Digital Balding fine hair-like strokes are created using a PMU machine with nano needles. Because there is no cutting to the skin, and the pigment is gently deposited on the correct depth healing time is less and the outcome lasts a lot longer than Microblading.

Feather Touch Studio was one of the first schools in USA that started offering Digital Blading/machine strokes training or how we like to call it Microblading of the 21st Century.

Digital Balding also a great option for clients who have oily skin and large pores making it a great technique that will work for a wider audience of your potential clients.
